Our history

Zaria Koru Eskola, founded in 2015 by pianist, singer and conductor Imanol Elizasu, is a choral school based in Errenteria that offers much more than singing lessons. Since its beginnings, Zaria has been a space where the passion for music is combined with a comprehensive training that includes singing, piano, music theory and more.

The school is organized in different groups according to age: Musical workshop for the youngest, ZariaTxiki for those who are just starting in the world of singing, ZariaTxo for those who are growing up, ZariaGaz for teenagers and Zaria for adults. Each group finds its place in an environment accessible to all quality music, starting from the age of four.

Zaria Koru Eskola works a repertoire that includes renaissance music, Basque folklore, musicals, international folklore and contemporary music, among others. In addition, Zaria actively collaborates with national and international choirs with the aim of bringing new cultures to Errenteria and promoting the personal and artistic growth of its singers. These collaborations have taken us to countries such as the United States, France, Germany or the Czech Republic, among others.

Our mission is to help each person develop their vocal and musical potential in an environment that fosters values such as discipline, self-esteem, solidarity and respect.

"Music is a powerful tool for personal and community development."

What is Zaria Koru Eskola?

At Zaria Koru Eskola, we offer you the opportunity to explore and perfect various fundamental disciplines for singing. Under the direction of Imanol Elizasu, we are dedicated to teaching the correct knowledge and use of the voice, an instrument present in all of us and essential for a quality musical education. We are a project open to people of all ages, where education and culture are promoted, establishing new links of collaboration and creating networks of participation.

Our approach is based on an integrative vision of the voice, where we help each individual to develop his or her maximum potential, improving vocal technique, taking care of it and enhancing it. We control the voice so that it is expressive and natural, thus promoting an enriching and quality musical education.
