Faced with the health crisis caused by COVID19 and addressing the new reality, the Zaria Choir School of Errenteria is now open for enrollment for the 2020/2021 course. Despite the suspension of classes and live performances due to the COVID19, Zaria Koru Eskola has continued to promote learning and enjoyment through the voice during these months: through online sessions during the confinement and, subsequently, in the rehearsals that have been taking place for some weeks, always with the necessary security measures. These sessions have been preparing, among others, a show scheduled for November: a performance that will combine music by the English group The Beatles and bertsolaritza.
Looking ahead to the 2020/2021 academic year, the configuration of classes and group conditions have been adapted to the new reality to guarantee safety. Starting in September, the spirit of Zaria Koru Eskola will be the same as always: enjoying choral music and deepening one's own human and intellectual development through cultural activity, group work and work on human values; and we will do so prioritizing the safety of the students: the formation of the groups and the conditions in which the classes will be taught will be adapted to the circumstances of the moment. In this way, groups will be limited, the established safety distance will be maintained and the necessary hygiene and cleaning measures will be taken.
The main objective of Zaria Koru Eskola's training offer is to promote passion and love for choral music among children, young people and adults through quality musical training. For this, age groups are formed and the work carried out in them is reflected in the various choirs of Zaria: boys and girls from 6 to 9 years old form Zariatxiki Abesbatza, boys, girls and young people from 10 to 15 years old Zariatxo Abesbatza, young people from 16 to 17 years old Zariagaz Abesbatza and those older than that age perform in Zaria Abesbatza and Zaria Ensemble; But within the center's program it is especially important that singers of different ages sing together.
Both in the educational and cultural fields, synergies between different agents are essential. In this sense, Zaria Koru Eskola is a school rooted in Oarsoaldea, which collaborates with the Bizarain, Egiluze, Gamón, Koldo Mitxelena, Orereta and Telleri educational centers in Errenteria and with Elizalde in Oiartzun, as well as with various institutions. In addition to the regional or Euskadi level, Zaria's projection also extends to other communities at the state and international level; He maintains contacts with choirs from Catalonia, the United States, Germany, France, the Czech Republic, etc. and, among his projects, he has concerts in Paris and Catalonia, and the visit of French and Czech choirs to Errenteria.
